1000 hrs: Pick up at your Nairobi accommodation.
Visit the David Sheldrick Elephant orphanage where young orphaned elephants are brought after being rescued and are rehabilitated until they are able to be released back into the wild. The orphanage also takes in rhinos, you may therefore get a chance to see a young rhino on a lucky visit.
The feeding show lasts for one hour, strictly at 1100 hrs – 1200 hrs.
1230 hrs: visit to the Giraffe Centre where you will see the friendly Rothschild giraffe eager to accept a kiss and learn about different types of giraffe and their history. The center is also home to several warthogs which freely roam the area along with the giraffes.
Lunch at Utamaduni – Verandah restaurant or Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens. Lunch paid directly by self.
After lunch, visit Kazuri Beads where you will find hand-painted fair trade ceramic jewelry made in Kenya. Kazuri means “small and beautiful” in Swahili and this describes each and every beautifully handmade ceramic bead which is shaped by struggling single mothers who work at the workshop. The beads are kiln fired once, glazed and then fired again before being strung.
1600 hrs: Take the Kenya Wildlife Services Safari Walk where you spot various wildlife in their natural habitat from the safety of a raised wooden boardwalk. Some of these species are white rhino, albino zebra, bongo, pigmy hippo and three of the big cats among a variety of beautiful birds.
1700 hrs – You are dropped back at your hotel.
